The school was founded in 1879 as part of a group of Church of England schools and is now home to approximately 250 boarders.
The accomodation is in six boarding houses offering a combination of single, twin and multi-bedded rooms. Showers, baths and wcs in each house.
All meals are taken in the self-service dining room

Six tennis courts, football pitches, playing fields, indoor sports hall and a swimming pool.
The school also has its own 9 hole golf course and there are riding and watersports available
